Central Valley

Santa Ana

Warmer, drier and more open than Escazú, with a town centre that still feels like a town.

Santa Ana sits slightly lower and further west than Escazú, which makes it noticeably warmer and drier — a difference of a few degrees that matters a great deal day to day. The valley opens up here, the hills are gentler, and there is more horizontal space.

The old town centre around the church has kept its scale and its Saturday market, and the surrounding area has developed without entirely losing that. Horse properties sit a few minutes from new residential enclaves; the balance between the two is part of the appeal.

For families, the practical draw is the same as Escazú — international schools, services, airport access — with a calmer, more suburban feel and generally more land for the money.
